In this chapter we explain the technologies that the manufacturer uses for this product.
AXS ™
AXS ™ is the new integrated platform from SRAM to connect electronic bicycle components with the software. The SRAM AXS ™ app enables the driver not only to check the battery level, influence the switching behavior and configure the controls according to personal preferences, but also to create maintenance plans and update the firmware.
Carbon Tuned ™
Firmness and rigidity where you need it, light weight where you want it. The SRAM design with the exclusive carbon sheathing increases the thickness and rigidity in areas with particularly high loads. The tapered, tiered carbon architecture ensures the greatest possible weight savings without sacrificing strength.
DUB ™
The ratio of how the crankshaft and the bearings are dimensioned is the core of the DUB ™ technology. This is where stiffness and durability meet and complement each other. SRAM just thought a little further and made everything even easier - by better integrating all components such as chainring, crank, crankshaft and the bottom bracket. Only this approach of seeing the drive as an overall system enables better drive performance.
DZero ™
Quarq's Dzero Powermeter platform is named after the "D0 Experiment" - one of the most accurate and innovative science projects to track down subatomic particles moving at the speed of light. With a new measurement circuit, a revised strain gauge design, improved accuracy during the entire crank revolution and the most advanced software, DZero represents the state of the art in power measurement.
Flattop ™
SRAM has developed a narrower chain for the X-Range ™. The unique shape of the chain links in the flattop technology not only enables a larger transmission range, it also ensures a quieter chain run, greater stability and improved durability.
Flow Link ™
The ultra smooth inner link plates of the chain are completely free of edges. This reduces the friction on the cassette and chainring. The result: low-noise performance and a longer component life. The chain design enables a narrower profile. The chain is so rigid. The rivets are more even and the tensile strength is higher due to their smooth outer plates.
Orbit ™
Orbit ™ technology is an innovative and new way to control derailleur movement. It uses a silicone fluid as part of an elegant and ultra-light damper system. Compared to a conventional friction clutch system, orbit technology does not exert additional resistance on the rear derailleur spring during slow or light movements. This means easier gear changes and simplified impeller removal. And while driving, the fluid damper reduces chain slap. That means bombproof reliability for single and double drives.
PowerLock
The chain engineers at SRAM have developed PowerLock as a tool-free, safe and constant way of connecting their chains. Although no special tools are required for assembly with PowerLock, in view of the narrow tolerance range one 10, 11 and 12-speed drive each PowerLock can only be used once.
XDR ™
The XDR ™ driver is a universal interface for cassettes with single sprockets under 11 teeth. This enables lighter and more versatile drives to be implemented without the need for a new rear wheel hub standard, a change in the hub body or the cassette tool. The XDR ™ interface is 1.85mm wider than XD ™ and was developed for racing use. The XDR drivers are compatible with all XD cassettes as long as you install the cassette with a 1.85mm wide spacer.
X-Range ™
Road bikes are faster and more capable than ever and the riders keep showing what bikes with road handlebars are capable of. X-Range ™ is the translation for the modern way of riding a racing bike. SRAM has completely redesigned the racing gear ratio, for more gear range, a more comfortable and more usable gear ratio and, thanks to AXS ™, also smarter gear settings. With X-Range ™ you are always in the right gear.
X-Sync ™
X-Sync ™ 1x chainrings from SRAM ensure maximum performance and durability. The long SRAM X-Sync ™ tooth edges grip the chain earlier than traditional triangular teeth. The sharp and narrow tooth profile as well as the rounded oblique edges support the chain guide. In order to offer the best possible performance even in muddy terrain, the X-Sync ™ chainrings have recesses for the removal of dirt and mesh for the inner chain links and rollers. The X-Sync ™ chainrings manufactured in Germany are an important part of the SRAM 1x ™ drive.
