The Ardent Race fills the gap between the Ikon and the Ardent, between fast XC tires and trail tires. Its profile is medium high, the central lugs are narrow, but leave enough space for good self-cleaning and are bevelled for lower rolling resistance. The side lugs are angled and offset and bite into the ground in curves. This makes the Ardent Race the right tire for all-round use and on the trails. The Ardent Race is available in all three wheel sizes in 2.20 width as a TubelessReady version with EXO sidewall protection. 2.60WT wide tires generally have a WT construction, but no WT marking on the tire sidewall.

DualCompound
Two different rubber compounds are processed into a tread strip. We plan the arrangement of the compounds according to the desired properties of the tires.

MPC
The MAXXIS PERFORMANCE COMPOUND is an all-round compound. This rubber compound also benefits from the development expertise of the largest bicycle tire manufacturer in the world and impresses in daily use with a very long service life, grip and maximum reliability.

3C Maxx Speed
The fastest 3C mixture for XC and some AllMountain / Enduro tires is designed for the lowest rolling resistance due to the hard substructure and the fast mixture in the middle of the tread, but with the non-slip mixture on the sides also offers superior grip in curves, even in wet conditions. The very long service life is also typical of MAXXIS.

EXO protection
This extremely cut and abrasion resistant material protects the sidewall of various MTB tires. It is very tightly woven, light and very flexible. As a result, the performance of the tires remains convincingly good.

Tubeless Ready (TR)
Tubeless tires have many advantages: You can drive with less air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no hose, the risk of a breakdown also decreases. MAXXIS TR tires are better prepared for assembly with sealing milk than other "tubeless ready" tires. Like a real UST tubeless tire, the bead of the TR tire is completely covered with a rubber layer. As a result, tubing-free assembly is successful on all rims with standard dimensions when they are inflated for the first time and with little liquid. “Normal” MAXXIS MTB tires can also be fitted with tubeless sealant like tires from other manufacturers, as the carcass fabric is very dense. Only the new MAXXIS TR models are officially approved for tubeless assembly and guaranteed by MAXXIS. The tubeless assembly of other models is at your own risk.
