Vulcanized Tubeless Ready (V-TLR)

The highest level of performance offered by car, truck and motorcycle tire manufacturers is a vulcanized tubeless system. While cars and trucks are old technologies, bicycles are relatively new and didn't even have an internationally recognized design standard (ISO or ETRTO) until recently.

By eliminating the tube it is possible to reduce weight and theoretically create a softer, more comfortable, more efficient tire system with lower rolling resistance by running lower tire pressures. The reality is a bit different as extra rubber needed to seal the air at lower pressures tends to defeat the concept of "high performance" tubeless.

A tubeless system has a super tight fit on the rim to maintain the seal and can be ridden without sealant. Most tubeless tires are actually Tubeless Ready (TLR), can be run tubeless by adding a sealant, but can also be run with an inner tube when fitted and sold to allow for test rides and a quick sale.

Challenge has started introducing Vulcanized Tubeless Ready (V-TR) tires as the ISO and ETRTO standards for proper fitting of V-TLR tires and rims have finally been finalized. These standards ensure your safety and your ability to install and service the tires with hand tools
